Installing WDP fails

I bought the full version at koeln, but I am having major issues with the instalation according to my virus checker there is a trojan virus on the disc, thus it wont let me install using setup. I thus went into the disc and clicked on installer, layout, windigipet.  the programe installed, but when I try and open it, it says it needs to install drivers and I must reboot my computer. I have now restarted my computer 6 times but am still getting the same message. Any thoughts.

After disabling my anti virus software I managed to load up the programme but it still wont run.  The instructions says during loading you have to restart your computer, then it will finnish loading. When do you do this?, before it loads? However it just loads. I have tried restarting it after it has loaded, but it just comes up all the time saying drivers have been loaded and it needs a restart I'm now up to 12 restarts and it still wont run Im not impressed having wasted 4 hours of trying to run this programme. What are these drivers.  note i've removed and reinstalled the prog 2 times as well to try and solve this

Hello,

if you run a new Windows like Windows 7 you have to do the following to install WDP properly (this is a Windows issue and not due to WDP): go to the CD and find the setup routine. Click it with the right mouse button and select "install as administrator". Then run the install routine as known.

It may occur that you have to start WDP after installing for the first time the same way but after that you can start WDP normally.

I'm using XP with SP3. 

It did open once, but froze solid in system settings and crashed.  When I reopened it, it once more wanted a restart due to drivers loading. 6 restarts later, still no luck. 

Anoying thing is downloaded the demo version onto that computer and got trains moving in less than 2 mins of opening.

Hi,

are you logged in in Windows as administrator? Though you don't have to do the right click thing in XP you still have to be an administrator to install WDP.

Yes, there are only two accounts in this computer. me and guest.  The computer has only 3 main programmes, windigipet, wintrack and firefox. Nothing was running when I tried to load the prgramme.

I also noted on the one time that I managed to get it to open there were no pictures in the database. It was then that I tried to access system and it stopped responding.

Note, the intructions says after loading, you restart the computer, it then says that it loads some more, this has NEVER happened. If you do a reload it gives you the option to repair the database, which I have tried. It does this, but then still does not open.

Hi Sarah,

I just cut this problem off the old topic.

Some ideas:
- didn't you have the German version before? Did you uninstall this before installing the English version?
- please uninstall both the English and the German version. If you don't need it any longer than uninstall the demo version, too. Reboot your PC and reinstall the English version.
- switch your anti virus software off during installation.

By removing my anti virus soprtware was the only way I was able to intall the programme via setup. I'm now down to a basic windows firewall on my computer.

I had the german small version. That required 3 restarts of the computer to get the drivers installed.

Before I started I removed it from my computer. There was also no demo version installed. I installed this only late lastnight as a test to see if that worked, it did.

Twice now I have removed the english full 2012 from my computer, did a restart and reinstalled.

that was a lot of work but it works now? I'm sorry about that but I understand that the problem was your anti virus software. You can reinstall it now. May be the anti virus software warns you a bout WDP as mal ware. Of course it is not. If so then add WDP to the list of programs not to be checked.

Right, another day. Still no progress.

I removed both the full version and demo versions from my computer.  Removed all files that had been placed in my main C drive.  The computer anti virus was also removed, so now no protection.

Restarted my computer.
Placed disc in drive
Went to run and did D:/setup
Screen came up. Picked install
Installed.
Took about a minute
Icons on screen
Restarted computer
Clicked on windigit pet
Said drivers installed restart computer  #10000
Restarted computer
Computer restarted
Clickecd windigipet
Said drivers installed, reboot computer  #10000
Restarted computer.
Computer restarted
clicked Windigipet
Said driver installed, restart computer #10000   (do you see a theme here)
Computer restarted
clicked on windigipet
Said driver installed. restart computer #10000
Restarted computer
Ran d:/setup again
Screen came up. install or handbook
Clicked install
Asked if I want to repair
Clicked yes
Repaired database
Restarted computer
Clicked on windigipet
Said drivers installed. restart copmputer #10000
Restarted computer
Clicked on windigpet
Said drivers installed, restart computer #10000
Did same again x3

So far not impressed with programme that works 100% if you download the demo version, but not on Eur400 disc.

Has this disc been tested on XP SP3?

Hi,

yes, of course. I used to have it before I switched to Win 8. A lot of users have it, too without any problems.

I just asked one of the programmers to have a look at your problem. But it might take a while until he answers because he's not at home at the moment.

Well, progress, of sorts.

After looking at the office version, I mnaged a system settings and got it to add my twin centre to port1. It then wanted a closedown, which I did.

tried to open the mian one, driver issue again, so restarted computer.

Main prog opened, but into system settings it just sits on hour glass. It then stops responding. thus it closes. Got it to reopen. Added two locos and then moved via the prog.  Dont have any custom pics on this computer yet and none of the windigipet pics have laoded, but its progress.

Tried to go once again into system and once again, the hourglass, 1/4 of a clock and then a programme non responding.

I'm going for another computer restart and see whats what.

do you have another PC where you could install WDP? The picture problem is not difficult to solve but we should solve your main problem first.
