Titel: Most reliable controller with WDP?
Beitrag von: Per Olsen am 17. Januar 2020, 18:34:09
Hello.

I am seriously thinking about buying a new train-controller for use with WDP.  Today I have a TAMS controller.  I need a controller that works fine with DCC, MM and MFX.  I suspect maybe my Tams controller is not working correct.

What are your suggestions?

Regards,
Per.

Hello again.

Well, I received no replies to my message.   So maybe I should try another:
If you are using WDP in both DCC, MM and MFX, and never had any trains run away at full speed, which controller are you using?

I must find a solution, so I can run my outlay again, without any fear for run-away trains.

Best regards,
Per.

Hello Per,

I use the Tams without any of your Problems, since i got rid of any Uhlenbrock or (Piko) Decoders.

I don`t need to deaktivate any analoge modi in my Decoder!

Hello!

OK, thank you!

Do you use also MFX (M3)?
And did you have some problems with run-away trains before you removed the mentioned decoders?

Greatful for all help!

Best regards,
Per.

Hi Per,

I am running only DCC and mfx, I don't run MM.
My controller is TAMS with the actual software.

I never had the problems, you described.
No idea, if MM is involved in the problem.

This might not help you but give you perhaps some more information.
best regards, Matthias

Hello!

Thank you!

No, I do not think MM is a problem.  I don't know what is....   All help is welcome.

So far, all run-away trains have been using Zimo decoders.  And I never had any problems until I activated MFX (M3 in Tams).  I had some thoughts that maybe (just MAYBE) it has something to do with either the decoders not like MFX, or the MFX (M3) sent by my Tams controller, does not work correct.  I don't know….

But I DO know, that I have to get this fixed now :)

Best regards,
Per.

Hello Per,

Most of my Märklin Decoders use m3 (mfx) another Part is still MM and only  1 or 2 use DCC!

Thank you!

I have around 10 MFX locos.
I have about 10 Zimo (DCC), the rest (about 60) use other DCC and MM decoders.  Mostly ESU decoders.

Per.

Hi,

I only use decoders from ESU, Märklin and Kühn

And only ZIMO decoders show the problem? Is this a hint?

Hello.

I don't know.  But I did notice that most of the decoders in the trains with problem, are Zimo.  Some are of unknown type.  When I re-install decoders, I use ESU or Mærklin, as they never have cause me problems :)

Regards,
Per.
