Spontaneous re-boot of the IB
« am: 28. März 2004, 01:58:58 »
When I run my layout with the help of Win-Digipet the IB sometimes re-boots without any reason that I can see. It happens very spontaneously. Sometimes it doesn’t happen for hours while on other occasions it can happen several times within an hour.
The IB never re-boots unwillingly when Win-Digipet is not active.
(I run Win-Digipet 8,4 international.)

Hi Lars,

we´ve discussed this problem also in the German forum.
It seems quite clear that this is an IB-problem.
You will find exactly the same problem description with other railroad control software in conjunction with the IB.

Uhlenbrock is working on this.

Hello,

I have experienced some improvement, i.e. lesser resets, with the latest version of the software for the intellibox (version 1.500-1.500, available at Uhlenbrock web site). Try it in case you do not get it before.

Regards,

Jesús

Thanks for the advice, but in fact I already have version 1,5 installed.
Some days, however, are better than others. Today the IB has been working for about two hours without any re-boots, but yesterday it happened twice. So I'll keep on waiting for Uhlenbrock to find the error.

Best regards,
Lars

All,

as far as I know the spontaneous resets are still not fixed with IB-load 1.500 or 1.501 and it´s still under investigation by Uhlenbrock.

I achieve the best results (less IB-resets) when I first boot the computer, AFTER that I switch on my IB and then start WDP. Maybe it sounds superstitious - but then resets of the IB occur really seldom.

Hello all !

Due to some problems with my layout (locos not stopping correctly always, see my other mail about this in this forum), I got a bit "tired" of my problems, so I have not been very activ the last months.  I am glad to see many new messages in the english forum now, and I will re-activate myself again now

Anyway, this re-boot problem exists here, too.  With my first IB I had a lot of reboots.  So many, that my supplier sent me a new one, in the end.  My new IB has the latest software (I upgraded it), but also this IB has the re-boot problem.  The problem is not as often as with my first IB (don't know exactly why..), but it is still there.  So, if Uhlenbrock has decided to try to fix this, I wish them luck, and hope we will see the results soon !  I really look forward to that !

Best regards,
Per.
