DC- operation
« am: 29. November 2004, 00:57:13 »
Dear Forum.
As a beginner I am experimenting with DC-operation, but have run into problems. I have defined a route from one DC-contact to the next and then to the first again. When I try to start the defined train I am told by a small box: "Caution E94 1st and 2nd track contact V = 0". The inspector have the following comment: "E94 will be blocked at destination" and "E94 not yet stop command= exit". What is it that I am doing wrong?. Can anyone help me because the train is not moving 1 mm.?
Thank you in advance.
Regards

Good morning,

this sounds as if you would have several (small) problems:

In Antwort auf:
 Caution E94 1st and 2nd track contact V = 0

I assume the starting speed of this train = 0. Please check this in the loc-database.
Alternatively: The setting in the Routes editor of this particular route is wrong: Starting-speed of the train in the loc-database = "30" and the start-contact of this route within the Routes Editor = "-30" brings you to a total of "0"...then this message will appear and nothing will move.

In Antwort auf:
E94 will be blocked at destination

I guess you have entered the address of this E94 in the Routes Editor of this route and in addition you have marked the box. If it is like this, the loc-address will switch to RED in your track layout after the train has reached its destination contact. RED loc-numbers will block the train for any further movement during DC-automatic-operations.

In Antwort auf:
E94 not yet stop command= exit

This could either be an improper setting of the Routes-Editor or this is only a message of a DC-contact which is still occupied, but the train has already received a command.

Please check these topics and I´m sure it´ll work.

Regards

Ruediger

Dear Mr. Ruediger.
Good Morning.
Thank you for the speedy answer. It has moved things a lot. But there is one thing I do not understand and that is your 3rd comment about "improper setting or and occupied DC.contact".
If I start the "Automatic with DC-contact an choose a lokomotive then I have to right-click on the train number bottom - start/destination - to get the lokomotive to move. The Automatic does not work allthought I have clicked the DC- box.
The only setting I have in the Roure-editor is start and destination contacts.
Can you help me futher.

Hi Mogens,

I think the easiest way to give you a brief startup is, if you just mail me the following data out of your current WDP-folder:

GBild.dat (Track layout)
WDRoutes.mdb (all routes)
AKxxx.dat (your DC-automatic configuration whereas "xxx" is just a placeholder for the real naming).

If you mail me above mentioned files I´ll check them, document changes (if applicable) and create a simple automatic to make it easy for you to get on speed.
You may find my email address by clicking on my name.

Hi Ruediger.
Thank you for your kind offer. The situation has developed in a positive direction. I decided to delete the AK-file and start from the beginning. Now I am able to get the train to move automaticly so I will continue with my learning process. So for now thank you for your offer. I might come back, but I hope I don't.

Mogens
