Assuming you have at least four s88 contacts (here I assume you are running Marklin) - slow and stop at each end.. (see page 154 of the WDP 2009 manual)

You need to set up two routes.. One up and one down.. (see page 180 of the WDP 2009 manual)

Then you need to set up a route automatic.. (start reading at page 298 of the WDP 2009 manual)  At key thing to add to each contact is the reverse command '<>" (page 313) and a pause at each end so that the shuttle looks more natural...

Check the tour/route automatic (see page 328)

After all this is set up you press the tour automatic button (see page 425)..

It takes some work to get your first one going, but it is heaps of fun..

Hello,

Adrian explained it very well. But try this with a short loco only first. This might not work with a long train but with a loco shorter than your stop contact. When this is working please ask again. For whole trains you need to do a little trick but one step after the other.

Stefan

Thank you Adrian, Stefan,

i am using an intellibox 2 and loconet feedback modules , ( i don't know if this makes a difference )
and i only have one feed back section at each end , do i need two ?, previously i have relied on the
braking programed into the decoder as the slowdown.

this is on a HOe section of my HO layout, it is only one small loco and 4 roco coal wagons and only travels 2 meters but looks great at train shows.

Thanks James.

Hello James,

You need at least three contacts: start, travel, stop. Where the stop contact is the start contact of the next route. You can have more. To get an idea of what of what I could look like please visit the forum area "Anwender-Gleisbilder". Even if you don't understand German you can look at the user layouts ( that's what the German word means"). There you can see how it works.
Viele Grüße,
Stefan
