Linking LDT S88 module to Windigipet
« am: 07. März 2013, 10:05:57 »
Hello

This is my first post on here an hoping that you can help.

I am looking for some help i am using An ECOS ESu DCC system and have linked it to windigpet and now have the trains running. The problem i have is i am using LDT s88 modules. I have told windigepet in the system settings that i have conected the s88 module but then when i put the loco on the feed back section it does not show the loco is there on the track. I was expecting the track section to go red.  We are using the demo package at the moment but was sure that this woudl still work.

Any ideas for em?

James

Hello James,

I don't know the LDT modules but are these modules with 16 contacts? If so you have do double the number of modules in the WDP settings as WDP always calculates with 8 contacts per module.

Hello thank you for your quick reply the modules are 8 outputs. I understand what you mean about if it was a 16 output modul and telling it about being modul2 AND not module1 to get 16 outputs.

I am sure i have this right.  Is there some think else i need to look at?

Hello James,

I'm not familiar with the Ecos or the LDT modules, but do the feedback modules work with the ECOS without using WDP?

If you are using 8 output modules I would think that the Modules would be numbered as follows(for one module):

Digital system...Ecos

from Module...........Module1
To Module..............Module1
Start Module WDP...Module1   Contacts 001 - 008

Hello Thanks for this message. The modules do work with the ECOS. And the way you have assigned the modul is how i have done it. I am a little lost. I use Uhlenbrock Intellibox and there feedback modules and have never had a problem. This is for a customer and i can not understand why there are not working with Windigipet. Does any one have any more ideas?

Hello James,

did you use the WDP port search engine? It should tell you which port you have to enter in WDP. Also this port may not be used by something other. Additionally you can't use two programs at the same time addressing the Ecos.

Stefan

Hello Stefan

If the Ecos is using the s88 as well it's self would this affect WDP?  Can you only use WDP operating he layout on its own? Using the S88?

Hello James
I m french and i have the same problem... i use a Lenz central. ( sorry for my english language )

Has your LDT module got an address on your system?
have you declare this address on WinDipet part system ?

example : your module address is 65
you must declare this address in the part system. After you must reboot WDP ( module 65 )

If you use 3 modules
use module 65 to 67
start module is the 65

use the combobox to declare modules ...

i hope this will help you, do not hesitate to contact me if necessary.
Best regards
TGV Nord

Hi TGV Nord,

James is trying to help me setup my Ecos 50200 CS with its LDT s88s detection units into WDP. We were fine until it came to the LDT s88 detection feedback modules, which although were setup as per everyone in this link's advice, we still could not get the actual feedback of a train in a block translated into the WDP track diagram.

I have been monitoring the answers to his post here on the WDP forum, but so far nothing seems to be pointing to a likely cause of the problems................I just wanted to explore what you have advised.

Namely what you mean by declaring the module address to WDP? Where is the combo box? and if the LDT had a digital address where does one put it in the feedback setup screen - if the s88 option is selected with an ecos CS as main DCC hardware, as far as I can see there is no way of specifying a digital address for the feedback modules.........or am I (We) being thick!!??

As far as I am aware s88 units do not have a digital address like point/accessory decoders, and simply get setup on the Ecos CS in the s88 bus setup screen using the +add module and simply telling the CS if it is an 8 or 16 contact unit - no other information is inputed (or required). To test if detection is working one simply watches the little grey squares go black when a train is in the block connected to that particular contact.

My Ecos setup (including the LDT s88 units detection) seems to be translated into other software such as iTrain & RR&co but we cannot get any further than getting my locos & points to be driven in WDP?

Thanks for any further help you (or anyone else might offer).

Alf

Regards,
Alf
