Can intelligent train number display loose his mind????
« am: 25. September 2013, 19:17:52 »
Hello everyone,
First of all : I have not been through all the new functions of  2012.2 but 2012 is amazing!!! Congratulattions.
I have the following issue with intelligent train number display:
I have attached power point picture to explain the problem:
Basically I have created two intelligent train number displays at two tracks( A&B on picture) ending at bumpers. Two intelligent train number displays are occupied by locs 507 & 013 but the machines are on c039 & c040.
If I now start the tour automatic the machines are recognized and begins their journey to the reverse loops at extreme right of pic, then comes back to the train station on tracks A or B randomly.
This works perfect continuously including reversing and so on.
Here comes trouble: if I do stop the tour automatic (closing all windows and erasing current tours) and go into the route editor without even modifying the involved routes going or coming from A & B: When I restart the tour automatic the locs who are in same positions than initially are not seen for the contact request.
-In order to start a tour I need to drive manually the machines on the exact contact number as the train display number. The intelligent train number display is ignoring the feedback address it should see.
- Once restarted the tour goes normally to the end but the machine are still ignored for a restart if not stopped on the exact feedback address of the train display.
- If when machines are not seen by the IT train display I run the tour automatic in simulation mode : it works.
- Coming to normal mode machine are ignored again.
-If I close windigipet and restart it with machine in exact same positions : when I restart it works again!!!!
The intelligent train number display seems to “be deactivated” when I go to tour editor and does not seem to come back to its normal way of working.
Is there any way to “resume” or “reinitialize” it without closing the software?
I hope someone can help.
I can post the Windigipet file if it can help.
Thanks in advance for feed backs.
Regards.

Hello ebarra,

I haven't used WDP 2012 yet, but, in your situation, it seems that you end the tour automatic prematurely before it has run out to its end...for example you say you erase current tours.  What does your tour automatic look like?  When you end the tour are the locomotives set to the correct direction in the tour automatic?  Just a thought.

Elliott

Hello,

I refere to this thread were we discussed your problem, too:
Stefan,
Your last sentence:
" However no contacts of one iTND may be part of an iTND in the SAME travel direction. In the other direction this is no problem."
Pointed a good mistake in my intelligent train number display as I had ond feed back adress belonging to tw following iTND traveling same direction.
I fixed it into my office version and will try it A.S.A.P. on the layout.
Thanks for the advice.

Regards.

Is your problem solved?
Viele Grüße,
Stefan

Hello Stefan.
Problem is partially solved:
Tour automatic work fine and contuniously.
But when I stop and work on routes or define some more tour automatic.
When. I restart tour automatic the train or locs are not always reconized: the
Loc are on the same feed back adress as previously.
Thoses feed back adresses are part of an intelligent train number (but not the intelligent train number). Thi ITN is seen as occupied  (two horizontal red lines are present) but there is no input reqest  by the tour automatic until I either drive the loc on the ITN or restart the software.
I must add that even if the locs starts when Idrive it to the ITN it will still notbe seen when returning on the ITN.
Here again the solution I coumd fin was to restart software.
Any ideas?
I can send you my files if you wish?
Regards.
Eric.

Hello Eric,

of cause the locos are where they were before - I guess we are talking about the TNDs and not the physical location. WDP only moves a loco from one TND to the next if you move the loco using WDP. If you run it manually from your central WDP has no idea what you did.

Is that your problem? If not I might have a look on your project.
Viele Grüße,
Stefan

Stefan,
I have attached a pdf picture showing  the status of what I get when I have the issue plus the Win zip file and the Sym_U symbol directory.
This club layout has the particularity to be able to run both 2 and 3 rails trains simultaneously.
The” strange symbols” 3R and 2R on the tracks are switch allowing to select if we are running with a train in 2 rails or maerklin  type.
It does very well with windigipet since few years.
Description:
In circle A:  Intelligent train number display N° 21 is composed of 21 and 39.
The loc is on 39 ( red ) and the iTND (21) is occupied with the loc number but track is not RED( I guess it is normal as far as nothing is physically occupying this piece of track)?.
When I start the tour automatic every goses fine.
If I stop the tour automatic when machines are back to exact same positions and do some work with the routes editor: when I want to resume tour automatic: there is no activity at all reported in the train inspector or the tour automatic.
If I now restart the software (still touching nothing on the layout) the tour automatic will recognize My the locs requests and starts normally.
If you just consider routes ID: 2, 3 and 37, you should cover my issue.
One more important thing: I have updated my Office version at home to 2012.2 but the layout version in the club is still 2012.1.
 Could this be an issue????
Many thanks for your time.
Regards.

Hi,

just a quick note to answer your last question: use the WDP maintenance and delete the hooks from the loco pictures (but not the vehicle database) and from the symbols. Then zip it again.

I'll have then a close look at your problem.
Viele Grüße,
Stefan
