The English W-D Demo 8.1 - Projects / Demo ?

Dear friends,
In order to learn about Win-Digipet, I have downloadet the English Demo 8.1 and the documentation. I'm trying to learn this interesting sotware system. But I cannot identify the module with projects and the illustrative demo system, that should be enclosed. I have had problems with the speed of the system - it works very slowly on my PC - 1,8 GHz-Pent. 4 w/256 MB Ram ... Should I download more than to two first elements, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Flemming,

if you encounter speed problems with your high-speed-PC I assume you have NOT connected a control unit (e.g. the Intellibox) at a COM-port. So please either connect your control unit or disconnect a system in the WDP-system settings by using COM-Port-0 (none). Then especially your system should be very fast.

I´m not sure, if the demo version includes the demo layout, but feel free to draw a part of your layout (e.g. a circle with some turnouts and other solenoid devices) and I guess you soon will have success by controlling 2 of your locs in your environment.

In case of any trouble don´t hesitate to use this forum.

Thank you for fast response. You are absolutely right. I tried to test the system "remote" at my desk - i.e. no connections to any COM port. I will follow your tip - thank you! I was reading about the demo layout in the documentation, and thought it could be an easy and faster way to better learn and understand the WDP system. In the meantime, I have spent some time downloading and studying the manual and some og the very interesting workshop material, so I feel like a young student starting from scratch again ... the only difference is 40 years ...

I will use this forum if I encounter new problems ...

PS - what does the follwing at the end of this page mean: "Voransicht des Beitrags und/oder eine Datei anhängen"? - My German "ist nicht gut" ...so I do not know whether to use it or not - I used the default ...

In Antwort auf:

"Voransicht des Beitrags und/oder eine Datei anhängen"?  

It means: Preview of your article and/or adding a file"

Thank you for help with translation. Is it partly the same function as f.ex. attachment in Outlook, when you send a mail, and want to include an existing text?? Is it normal in this forum to check this function on?
