Locomotves won't move
« am: 10. März 2004, 21:47:34 »
Since installing an LDT feedback module my locomotives won't run although their functions worked.  I think it is a safety stop because the stop icon doesn't change to go after it is pressed.  I also connected the cable leading to the interface in reverse resulting in all occupied being shown. The module has since been checked and is working normally now but the loco's still won't respond. Please help me find a solution.

Hi Michael,

what do you mean with "my locs don´t run".
Normally connecting a feedback module has nothing to do with loc-commands.
Please answer some questions:

- do you use 3-rail (AC) or 2-rail (DC) system?
- what kind of LDT-feedback modules do you use?
- is any manual control (via loc control) to the locomotives possible?
- what kind of central unit do you use (IB or 6021, etc.)
- are all locs affected?
- What happens if you disconnect the feedback module again?
- is there any short circuit on your layout (emergency stop)?

Please answer above mentioned questions and I´m sure we will find the problem.

Regards

Rüdiger

Dear Rudiger

I use maerklin 3 rail digital.  LDT stands for Littfinski Daten Technik and the model number is RM-GB-8.  It measures current on an isolated track section and sends an s-88 signal to the interface.  All locomotives are affected(don't run). However the locomotives work when: I manually use the 6021 control unit, on system settings I set the number of feedback modules to none, and most peculiarly I open the locomotive database and operate the control which appears on the right hand side of the screen.
Thank tou for your reply.

Dear Michael,

if you set the feedback modules to NONE and it works, then it seems to be a problem with the feedback contacts.
Did you enter the right amount of modules ? How many do you have ? If you have f.e. 3 RM-GB8 each with 8 connections, then you have to enter 2 modules in the system settings of Win-Digipet!

Please send me the status of the actual project by clicking on the button of your project name and then on export to RTF file.
Perhaps we can find something !?
