End of station, loc must drive to other side
« am: 22. August 2004, 15:24:50 »
Hello,

I dont know the english (or german) word so i will explain.
I have a 7 lane end station.
When a loc comes in, he must disconnect from the wagons and drive to the other side.
I have Marklin trains.
So the 'disconnect' track must be activated after the loc.
Otherwise he will lift the train off the track ...

I thought that it would be easy if:
track 1 has 4 's88 notifiers' in the track.
1-3 is for track lenght.
Number 4 lays behind the disconnect rail.
When the loc reaches number 4 he will drive 10cm back.
This will disconnect the wagon from the train.
Now the loc drives over lane 2 back to lane 1.
There he will continue to drive till the wagons reaches notifier 4.
Now we know he connected the wagon again.
The loc will continue his route.
If the notifier 4 does not come free.
We know that the wagon is not connected.

Can i do this with Windigipet?
Sorry for my language.
I am Dutch.

Cheers
Robert

Hi Robert,

fundamentally this is possible with WDP V8.x!
In this case the "weak" point is not the Software but the "Hardware".
If you use proper locs (37xxx or 39xxx) and the coupling of the waggons is perfect as well, I guess you will have success in more than 95% of all trials.

Thx Dietloff,

Can you point me to a chapter in the manual so i can read how its been done?
I want to try it with the demo before i buy the software.
And if it can be done then its absolutely worth the money !

Cheers

Hi Robert,

this (very specific) example is not in the manual, but if you download the Demo and play around for a while you can mail the following files to me:

1. GBild.dat (track layout)
2. WDRoutes.mdb (Routes)
3. WDigilok.mdb (locomotive database - limited to 2 locs within the demo version).

I can configure the data you are requesting from the distance to meet your requirements and will sent you an explanation with it, so that you will be able to customise (and finetune) this.
This may be easier than discussing about it - especially if you are not familiar with WDP.

Hi Robert,

I guess you mean "uncoupler track" (German: "Entkupplungsgleis").
A solenoid device (built in a short straight track) to uncouple ("disconnect") waggons from a locomotive.
