WinDigiPet Small X
« am: 26. Juli 2009, 19:51:42 »
Hi,
I am looking to digitize my layout, I have seen the pro-x software and it looks good but an overkill for my layout (85M of tracks, 12 Locomotivs). can I use the Small X instead. what will I lose?
Can I use the WinDigiPet Small X with Uhlenbrock IB-Com instead of Indelibox IR?
Thanks

Greetings Eranb
From what I can gather you are limited to 20 locos, there might be more restrictions but WDP small looks fully functional

 >:(HOWEVER >:(
I Purchased WDP Small together with IB-COM and found it to be in German only, no means of changing to English so be warned.
Mind you note that I came across your post on my way to finding a solution to my own problem of language which is not to say that there is no solution.
BUT ---> in an other post in this very same forum Mr Peterlin answered the following to a question about a patch to change the language

"sorry, no possibility.

You have to change the CD into english version
best regards"

Which could mean to be read, Buy another copy, and THAT would piss me off as I already have a perfectly good, valid, paid for copy.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to point a negative finger at Mr (Dr) Peterlin especially noting that I have not spoken to him as yet, just want to warn you of the (unintentional) trap I fell into.
Wait until you can buy a copy of WDP Small that states categorically "English" EU96.00 At LokShop.
Or buy WDPPro X that already states "English" EU281.00 at LokShop
I will start a post regarding this and email Mr Peterkin directly.

My apologies to Mr Peterkin.

Ps Yes you can use WDP small with IB-Com but not WDPpro X, see later post between CrazyH and Mr Peterkin.
I emailed Mr Peterkin regarding this before I purchased anything (I wanted computer control and Lissy on my Märklin layout) and he confirmed this.
Uhlenbrock puts out a packaged combo Cat# 65070 if you want to verify that.
But I have not been able to get my head around any of this due to it all being in German which is hilarious in some sad way because I am half German (Mother) but born and raised in the Netherlands and emigrated to New Zealand at 18, in the intervening time I have lost most of both languages.

Hi
As I see it, I'll go for the WDP 2009, as the pro-X does not work with IB-COM

Did you find any limitetions in IB-COM compare to IB-IR?
thanks
