Hello Markus !
ID0 is a seperate profile with no locomotive database, this is correct. But it is specific for a route and the train-lenght of that route, for any loco without its own profile for that route.
Well. First I made all the routes and tours. Next I ran my "standard" loco (the one that has the most used running characteristics) through ther layout, and made one ID0 profile for every route where I needed it. So I have a lot of ID0 profiles. Works very fine.
Next I ran each loco through the layout, and noted some changes I needed for some of the locos, so I made one new profile for each loco and each length. So I have up to 6 profiles for each loco to one track at a station, depending on the length of the train. So that the train normally stops around the middle of the track in the station. And the best way to make these loc-specific changes, is to copy the ID0 profile to the loc-specific profile for each track/length. This is very easy to do in the profile-editor.
But now comes my "problem":
When I want to copy one of these ID0 profiles to a loco-specific profile, I will not find that loco in the list of locos to copy to, if that loco not has the same train-length in the loco-database right now, as the lenght I need for this profile. I am sure there is a good reason for this, but in my case I would like the chance to copy the profile to each loco, regardless of which length is has in the database right now. I normally run the loco through many routes/profiles, with different train-lenghts, note the needed changes on a paper, and make many of the changes at one time on the PC, before testing the changes again afterwards. So I normally make new profiles (from ID0-profile) for a loco with many different train-lenghts each time. And to do so, I now must exit the profile-editor, anter the loco-database and change the train length, and back to the profile editor again, to make a new profile for the same loco, with another train-length.
This takes a lot of extra time. In my case it would be better if I could find the loco to copy to, no matter what length it has right now in the database.
Hope I explained it a little better now?
