Emergency relase
« am: 27. Januar 2010, 17:21:01 »
We are using windigipet 2009 in club inviroment to control the layout, setting routes and marking sure that train dosen't simulate accidents.
Our problem is that we are using windigipet as security and dosen't use it as an active part for running our train's therefore it is reel problem when the system is having a EMERGENCY STOP and you have to activate windigipet by clicking ok.
is it possible to get windipet to follow the release from the central unit (CS1 ver 3.0)

Hello,

Rene, which version do you use? English or German version? In English 2009 this should be included from the beginning on and in German version since version 2009.1.

Regards
Markus

Hello

We are using 2009.1 English version (11.1.117-32)

So you mean that this version should follow the release from CS1 V3 when returned to GO (Green). Ours dosen't do that we have to reactivate windigipet by clicking OK to remove the emergency warning in windigipet.

This is my experience also.. I have to press the Go key on the eCos and then climb under the bridge to clear the message on the PC, before the layout can resume... :-\

Hello Markus,

Would you happen to have a release date scheduled for english win-digipet fixes? (it's now 3 months later :)

Kind regards
Kristoffer

Hi Kristoffer,

I´m sorry but I don´t know any current time schedule. Maybe the boss, Dr. Peterlin can.

But the addressed issue has nothing to do with a fix, because this since the first version of Win-Digipet you had to confirm the Emergency Stop on the screen. This was simply the choosen concept for handling such a situation. In german version 2009.2 the release via the GO-Button of the Digital system was introduced as new program feature and will then also be avaiable in the englisch version as soon as it will be released. This is no problem fixing issue, but a new feature.

Markus

Hello Kristoffer,

the foreign version always take much longer because we always have to adjust the new words and phrases in the translation tables.
Regarding the last German updates it would not be worth translating into English.

The french version 2009.1 is fisnished.
We are working on the dutch version 2009.1 now and it is always a lot of work with manuals and screen texts.

best regards

Schöne Grüße aus Hürth

Dr. Peterlin,

:(I was just about to buy the Windigipet 2009 version , when I read that it is not worth it to update the English version. This is a big concern. ???

Hello Pieter,
I have the English version of Windigipet 2009 and I can confirm that there is nothing in this software that prevent you from having lots of pleasure with your layout.  I think the only genuine bug is the crane macro problem and another user has already provided a very effective workaround for this problem.  I don't use these and I suspect that not many others do either.

The issue raised in this post is a simple inconvenience and not a serious bug...  And my past experience with Peter and his team is that the problem will be fixed eventually...  The key to avoiding this problem is to ensure that you have well laid track, well coupled wagons and a good setup of the routes in WinDigiPet.  If you can achieve this then derailment will be a very infrequent thing and you will not come across this annoyance.

I have been using Windigipet for many years and have absolutely no regrets nor have I experience any serious issues with the software. Sure, there is the odd German word or phase that can be seen rarely and there is a window with extra bits, but none of these things stop the software from doing its main job.

WinDigiPet has transformed my modest layout into the busy "professional" layout that I used see as a child.  I can have 8 or 9 trains running at any time and there are no collisions (okay there was a couple, but they were from wagons that got away and a dodgy turnout - maintenance issues for me and not a software problem).
