Profile events activation
« am: 01. September 2010, 00:09:04 »
Hi this is my first post so hello everybody. I have been using the 2009 demo and have set up a track diagram and some routes. I can make the switching etc work fine in simulation mode. I have also set up profiles for routes and when I test these in the profile editor they work fine e.g. making a sound at acertain contact. However, when I trigger the same route from the route virtual keyboard, the profile events do not occur as the route is progressed by the locomotive?

Please note this is all in simulation mode - I have not yet attached feedback to my layout

Thanks and regards,

Martin

Hello Martin,

The virtual keyboard mode is an extremly old mode. Because of this, it does not support the usage of profiles. Please start the routes via Start-Destination-Selection within the Track diagram (middle-mouse-button click on the start train number display and the destination train number display).

Thank you for the quick reply Markus. I have another question - I do not fully understand the effect that driving a locomotive manually will have once the system is set up on my layout. If I switch a route manually and drive a locomotive manually along a route that is the same as a pre-defined route, does the program recognise this and apply the profiles for that route, or will it ignore the movement of the locomotive  e.g. is the logic

"locomotive X is at detector 3 and profile exists for this loco that says ring bell when it is at detector 3, therefore ring bell"

or

"locomotive X is at detector 3 but not being driven as part of a route therefore no profile activated"

Kind regards,

Martin
