Discrepancy between simulator and reality
« am: 06. Januar 2013, 03:25:09 »
Hello there:

Happy new year to everybody.

I have a problem with my first automatic tour. When I run the tour only with the simulator, it works as wanted. However when I run the tour in the reality, meaning on my model railroad layout, it doesn't work as it should. The trouble is only with the tour going from the station's platform no 5 and returning to the same location (###2, A-K 0011, 11>11 - Grand Tour, ID 10, as defined in the tour automatic editor). More specifically, the trouble is with the route 029 > 038. The signal (address 0018) at the end of the ramp doesn't turn green because the signal on the outside mainline (address 0009) never turns green, whereas it just does that when using the simulator.

My guess at the time is that it might be a hardware problem, but I cannot pinpoint which one. It may also be necessary to enter conditions, but I am not so far in my learning curve.

I have attached a zip file for more clarity.

Thank you in advance for any help for solving this problem

I guess I can answer now myself to my own question. As usual, the devil was in the details. The difference between the simulator and the layout was simply due to the fact that the locomotive stopping at signal 18 was slightly overshooting the limit defined in the intelligent train number. I wasn't even by one cm, only a few millimeters. Moreover I should have noticed the color of the IZNF wasn't black any more, but red.

An easy fix that made me think quite a long time  ::)

Pierre
