My N scale layout doesn't require a very sophisticated 2015 software and works under WINDOWS 98, Intellibox, and WINDIGIPET 8.4.1, imported from this English forum. Each block consists in a Breaking Contact (BC= 50 cm) immediately followed by a Destination Contact (DC = 50 cm). Unfortunately the locomotives stop systematically at the beginning of the DC.
On one hand this is very helpful for the tramcar stopping precisely in front of the station main door, regardless of the left or right incoming directions.
But on the other hand the trains never use completely the length of the DC in order to stop close to the end signal.
This is just frustrating!

QUESTION 1: Is this normal, or is there a bug in my updating process from WDP 8.1 to WDP 8.4.1 ?

In the WINDIGIPET 9.0 demo version the breaking session happens very smoothly from the beginning of the BC to the end of the DC.

QUESTION 2: Was this a major change implemented in the software from WINDIGIPET version 9 ?

QUESTION 3: Is it still possible to update my WGP 8.4.1 version to WDP VERSION 9 against an update price, as it was recommended by Mr PETERLIN to JAMES on page 22 of this English forum in November 2005?

I thank you for the time and the attention you will dedicate in helping me to solve my breaking problem.

Hello,

yes, this is normal. The loco stops immediately when it reaches the stop contact. You can only change that using profiles. I don't know if there are profiles in the WDP 8.4 Version and I don't know if there are such in WDP 9. They sure are present in WDP 2009 and WDP 2009 and WDP 9 are often mistaken as the same version. But they are not!

In the new version WDP 2012 and 2015 you additionally have the iTDN - the intelligent Train Number Display. It allows you to do exactly what you want to do. You can stop your train at the beginning of the platform, in the middle, at the end, or at the signal. This is easy to use and profiles are not necessary for that (though they are still available).

There is no way to buy another version but the newest WDP 2015 from M Peterlin. I would recommend to change to the new version. Unfortunatelly your version is that old that you don't get an upgrade price anymore. The new version is multilingual and contains German, English, and Dutch.
Viele Grüße,
Stefan
