Lenz LI101F speed
« am: 07. Januar 2004, 10:37:36 »
Hi,

I use a Lenz digital system V3.5 and LI101F with WinDigipet 8.4.1 (latest version).

My system works only at 19200 bauds, I cannot use higher speed with my LI101F. Is it normal ? How can I use higher speed ? (My PC port - COM1 - is configured at 115000)

Best regards

Jerome

Hi Jerome,

the new transfer speed of Lenz was implemented by Lenz, far later after the (German) release of WDP-V8.4!
The new Lenz-speed (>115 kb/s) is already supported in WDP-V8.5 (also German version only).

To be honest, I do not know any circumstance/environment in which this speed is really needed...but maybe I´m wrong.

Regards

Rüdiger

I have a quite large system :

20 digital locos on tracks
1 central LZ100 (SET01)
3 commands station (2 LH30, 1 LH100)
10 digital decoders for accessory with retro-signalisation
3 booster (one for braking system)
1 PC (using LI101F)
etc...

Sometimes, when I take a loco under control using a command station (LH30 or LH100), WinDigipet take 3 or 4 seconds before acknowledge it. I suppose higher speed can help to reduce this time to 1 or 2 seconds.

Best regards and happy new year to all

Hi Jeco,

The layout you have is not a problem. I have much more peripherals then you on my layout, and no problem.
The RS232 speed will not help to increase the reaction of the system. The "bottleneck" is the LZ100.
So some questions.
Which Lenz version are you running? is it 3.5?
Do you have the latest Chipset inside?
If so, you should update to WDP 8.5, as this version was modified to run much better with the Lenz feedback.
Switch of the Polling (Lenz verification) and the whole System  should run smoothly.
If any further questions occure don't hesitate to contact me.

Hi Jeco,

Sorry, I did give you a wrong advice.
The 8.5 is not available as an English update so far. Please DO NOT install it. But I'm afraid you have to wait for an English update.
Or this would be a good reason to learn German.

Sorry agian for my mistake.

My Lenz LZ100 is in version 3.52 (I upgraded it last year directly from Lenz).

I will wait for a new version of WinDigipet.

Thank you for your answers.

Best regards

Jerome
