Problems with “follow-on-route”
« am: 22. Februar 2011, 09:30:32 »
Mit input
Attached file shows track circle number 63. It consists of below routs 6 in all, and 6 “train number displays.
My problem with this is that the train doesn’t drive continuous but stop after every second route. The train waits for approximately 2 second before it continuous running.
The problem can be described as (Problems with “follow on routes” i the “tour schedule”)
In “tour schedule-editor”: Built up a tour of these routes,

Inserting ”follow on routes” in the above route
Route 1 consists of feedback contacts 1-7      Check next tour at feedback contact no. 6
Route 2 consists of feedback contacts 7-11    Check next tour at feedback contact no. 10
Route 3 consists of feedback contacts 11-15  Check next tour at feedback contact no. 14
Route 4 consists of feedback contacts 15-18  Check next tour at feedback contact no. 17
Route 5 consists of feedback contacts 18-25  Check next tour at feedback contact no. 24
Route 6 consists of feedback contacts 25-1    Check next tour at feedback contact no. 28

Start “train number display” bear right “train number”.
Then start the “tour schedule” with the desired tour.
The train runs through route1 (1-7) and the feedback contact no 6, query for next route and train number in “train number display 11” change to green,
The train continues on route 2 (7-11), here the feedback contact 10 query for the next route, but “train number display 15 does not turn green and the train reduce speed and STOP”
A moment later continue the route 3 (11-15) “train number” in “train number display 15” becomes green and the train runs through route 3 (11-15), feedback contact number 14 query for next route 4 and train number in “train number display 18” change to green,
The train continues on route 4 (15-18), here the feedback contact 17 query for the next route, but “train number display 25 does not turn green and the train reduce speed and STOP”
Again, a moment later the tour continues the “train number” in “train number display 25” turns green, the train continues, again the feedback contact 24 query on next route, “train number” in “train number display 1” change to the green and the train continues to “train number display 1” which is the destination.
Again the feedback contact 28 query for next route, there are no further “follow on routes”, train reduces speed the train number in “train number display 1” turns black and the train stops.
A moment after the train starts again, and it all repeats itself.
If I refuse including “follow-on-route” in the first route the problem is moved further along the routes but otherwise the same occurs. I've tried to run the line with short train, long train, fast and low, all with the same result.
I seem that the tour schedule will only read “follow on routes” at every second route.
I have worked on this problem for a long time. It appears both in WDPX and WDP2009,4.
Are there others who have observed similar? Perhaps has a solution.

Hi Søren,

this behavior is normal. The solution is use tours instead of routes. Build a tour consisting of all your routes as one complete circle. Then start this tour. The train will not stop until it reaches the very end (until there are no other trains ahead blocking the tour).

Enter this tour in your editor instead of the routes. When you start the tour automatic then you will see that the train will again stop at the end of a tour before it starts the next tour. This is normal and due to the system. Usually one uses a train station as begin and and of a tour and this gives the "people" the possibility to leave and enter the train. :)
Viele Grüße,
Stefan

Hi Stefan
Thanks for your quick answer.
When I build a tour in “the tour automatic” I will see the same behaviour whatever I use routes, tours or a combination of these, the results is the same. The train will stop or slow down with every 2. routes or tours.
The circle is only an example, my runways is a lot bigger, ca 50 meters of tracks, 30 turnouts, 6 trains, 120 feedback contacts and about 150 routes.
I think that these combinations will give me a big flexibility, therefore I do so!

Hi Søren,

can you please provide us with a backup of your project? We will have a look then. (Please without the locos and symbols.)

Hello Søren,

What Stefan is trying to say is include all your routes in one tour.  For example, your route 1 to route 6 should be in one tour.  This way you enter that single tour in the tour automatic.  If the route ahead is clear the train should not stop till it reaches the final destination in route 6.

Hope this makes it a little more clear :)
