Hello James,

I'm sorry, I didn't understand your question. One very long sentence. Can you please repeat you question with more and shorter sentences.

Hello James,

If I understand you correctly, you are saying that your push-pull train is only about half way through your route when the double slip switch changes direction causing the train to derail?

It seems that you may have a partial release that is being triggered before the train has completed the route.
Also, you should check the follow-up switching within your route to make sure that the double slip switch is not being triggered by an inadvertent feedback contact.

Aloha,

Elliott

Hello Elliott

You have understood correct. The push pull train runs from one feed back section to the next. Between the two feedback sections is a double slip. As you say this then derails the train. I think one of the problems is it only moves from one feed back to the next. How do you tell the switch condition to only change once the train has stopped and not when it enters the feedback section?

Many Thanks

James

Hi James,

I'm not familiar with Version 9.5, I started using WDP with Version 2009 Premium.

As for your feedback sections on either side of the double slip switch, do you have at least two feedback contacts?  A route consists of at least one start contact (on one side of the double slip) a braking contact, and a destination contact.  No switches should be switched while the train is within the route.  Only after the train has reached its destination can switches be released to switch.  Does your train reach its destination and does it fit entirely on the other side of the double slip switch?

Aloha,

Elliott

May be this is were the problem is there is only a start and destination contact. May be we will have to put in another contact.

Hi James,

When your train reaches its destination, is part of it still on the start contact?  if so, you can put a release condition that requires two conditions:  1) the destination contact has been reached and 2) the train has cleared the start contact.

I'm not sure if that was available in Version 9.5, but it is worth a shot.

Aloha,

Elliott

ps:  I'll try to upload a pic on what I mean about the release condiition

Hello James,

if your destination contact is long enough that the double slip is cleared when the train reaches the end of the destination contact you may use virtual contacts and a profile to solve your problem. You create a profile for your route that switches a virtual solenoid at a specific time when your train has passed the double slip. That virtual solenoid then activates a virtual contact. In your release conditions you add this virtual contact so that the real destination contact and the virtual contact have to be busy.

However if you've got the possibility to add real contacts to your route this is the much better solution!
Viele Grüße,
Stefan
