Need help trying to install Version Pro X.3 in Windows 8

After a 6 year absence I am trying to install the program on a new laptop running windows 8.
Whilst the program has installed it will not run. Each time I try it tells me that it has had to install a driver and to re-boot, which I do but no good as I get the same message each time.
Unfortunately I cannot get any files from the very old laptop which used to run the program, so I am a bit stuck.
Any advice please?

Hello Newleaf,

the ProX has been developed long before Windows 8 became available. For Windows 7 we had some users, where ProX worked and for some users it worked not. The problem for Windows 8 should be the same.

You can try to open Win-Digipet as administrator explicitly by clicking on the symbol with the right mouse button and the select "Run as administrator". Maybe this will help.

Many thanks fpr your reply, unfortunately it didn't sort the problem out. The actual message I get is "The drivers were installed or repaired but the system has not been rebooted yet. Please reboot and try again.". Which I have many times since!!!
However the 'Win-Digipet Pro Office version' loads ok although I haven't tried linking it to my system.
Its just Win-Digipet Pro X.3 where I get the error message.
Am I just trying to use the wrong program, office version is the one I should be using anyway?

Hello,

the Office version is the offline version. It's the same as the main program but without a connection to your layout. It can be used if you sit e.g. in your living room and you to some offline work in WDP.

If that what Markus suggested didn't work then uninstall WDP again. Search for the setup.exe on the CD. Make a right click on it and select "run as administrator". If this doesn't fix the problem you have to upgrade WDP to a newer version.
