Firstly, I have to say that version 2015 of WindigiPet has been working beautifully. The upgrade process was easy and everything from the previous version kept working as it should for me.
However, last week I replaced my 8 year old eCOs with a new eCos 2. As I use Marklin's mFx, the change over was not as smooth as I had hoped it would be for me. I had to recreate these entries in the new eCos as WindigiPet set them up as Motorola entries in the eCOS database. Not to worry - it was all sorted with not too much effort.
A bigger problem is the signals and turnouts. The Track Diagram editor lets you create the new entries in the eCOS from the WDP database, but there are two screens with German words. I have attached the screen shots. In the meantime, I will see what Google translate can do for me.. ( Really wish I had taken German and not French at school).. Can you please upload the translation file for us?
Thank you and keep up the great work.

Hi Adrian,
oh, sorry. I didn't read your thread exactly.
These german words are made in a config file (ECoSIDv3.cfg) especially for the ECoS, but we dont want to translate it in all languages,
regards
Peter

Hi Adrian,
Gittermastlampe could be translated as grid (or barred or lattice) mast with lamp on top.

Hello Elliott and Ralf for those translations.
While Google translate is good with conversational text, it stumbles badly on technical words. Shranke, for example, won't translate at all.
Kind regards,
Adrian

Hello Peter,
I guess it makes sense as you only use this feature when you add new accessories to the eCos.. I am sure I can survive with these few German words.. Hey! I just learned the German word for a Railroad crossing.

Hey Adrian,
I may have given you the wrong definition for railroad crossing
Bahnuebergang = railroad crossing
Shranke actually refers to the posts or gates that come down at the railroad crossing.
Hey Ralf,
Yes, lattice is the word I was looking for...thanks
Aloha,
Elliott

Hi all,
here is a nice picture:

Elliott is right, Schranke means the gates of a Bahnübergang = railroad xing

Ah! We call them Boom Gates.. I am not sure of the origin, but it does match the sound of a truck hitting one just before meeting the train..

Okay.. I persisted with the translations - sometimes just placing the German word into Google and looking at images to figure out the meaning. Most of the options I will never use, but the word for Uncoupler Track (Entkupplungsgleis ) is useful as it is missing in Google Translate..
I may have some incorrect translations here, but I have created an English eCos configuration file (ECoSIDv3.cfg) and attached it in case someone else finds it useful. My advice would be to copy the original file some place safe before copying my file renaming my file to ECoSIDv3.cfg and then copying it into the C:\WDIGIPET folder.
Best wishes from Australia,
Adrian

Hey my english speaking friends.
When single words are a problem, don't use google but
http://dict.leo.org
, like this:
http://dict.leo.org/ende/index_de.html#/search=schranke&searchLoc=0&resultOrder=basic&multiwordShowSingle=on
I do as well for single words from time to time.
I will also start looking over this thread daily if somebody has a problem.
