CS2 connect with WDP
« am: 25. Januar 2016, 13:08:20 »
In my new project I try to connect with my Märklin CS2 60125, but so far no luck.

Both the CS2 and PC are connected to the same switch through which both can access the internet.
IP addresses is DHCP  from the router as follow:
CS2 - 192.168.0.168
PC - 192.168.0.145

CS2 version 3.27 from August 2015, latest update available.

I have opened the two port in the Firewall 15730 and 15731 and even de-activated the Firewall completely.
So far no luck and I'm out of further ideas.

I can Ping the CS2 from the PC without problems.

Some screen shot attached to document my doings.

Suggestions are welcome.

Jan

I now have the Digital System Setting so the Wizard Network Connection "Test connection" is working, but the symbol does not change from red to green in the main program as expected.

Please advice.

Dear Jan, This seems to be a rather strange problem you are experiencing. I'm not the greatest expert, but I've just checked out my CS2 IP and CAN sections which are as follows:-
In the IP CS2 section. Top Left, I have "Address Assigment Manually" activated, so Automatically (DHCP) is not activated.
Your PC IP Address is 192.168.0.145 which is a "C Class", so your "IP Network Temp" has to be 255.255.255.0.
The last sugestion is to change your CS2 IP Address from 192.168.0.168 to 192.168.0.144 or 146, if nothing else works.
I hope this may be of some help to you ?
Best Regards-Dave CONNER-Berlin.

Thanks for your input Dave,

Unfortunately no luck, I have 255.255.255.0.

The two IP addresses are assigned by the router and can only be change if I change the setup to manual assignent if IP's, which I'm trying later today.

Now I changed the IP to manual in both PC and CS2 as:

PC - 192.168.0.15
CS - 192.168.0.16

Both can still access the internet via the switch.

Like before, the Wizard Network Connection "Test connection" is working, but the symbol does not change from red to green in the main program as expected.

One odd observation, I can ping the CS2 from a command line, but not from within Wizard Network Connection ?

I hoping for suggestions to solve this strange behave.

hey

You say that both is connected and has internet access, the PC is it connected by cable or wireless ??
If it's connected via WiFi try to use a cable instead.

Thanks for you input,

Both the CS2 and PC are connected by cable to the same switch through which both can access the internet.

I have in the meantime changes the settings back to the original, where IP addresses are DHCP  from the router as follow:

CS2 - 192.168.0.168
PC - 192.168.0.145

Dear Jan, this is getting stranger by the hour, no solution yet ? I have one last idea:- conect your CS2 directly to your PC with a RED (twisted) internet patch cable. This will eliminate your router ?, which may be the problem.
Good luck and best regards, Dave CONNER-Berlin

Hi Jan,
the IP connection seems to be well done if you can ping the cs2 and the router. There might be a packet filter or a security software responsible for the given problems.
Please try to register the program wdpnetmod.exe in to your firewall config. Please do that for the network type which your network belongs to (private, public, domain).

Hi Bernd,

Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately it did not solve the connection problem. Actually I did not expect that as I have already tried to de-activate the firewall totally.

I don't know if is of any help, but when I press the red symbol and press Init System the error show in the attached appears.

Even it will not be my preferred connection, I will try Dave suggestion tomorrow when I get a cross over cable.

I'm open for more suggestions.

Thanks all for your suggestions - problem solved.

By mail mr. Peter Peterlin suggested:

1 de install 2015 Premium
2 install the Demo Version 2015
3 install again the 2015 Premium
4 de install the Demo 2015

Now I can contiune diving into Win-Digipet

Thanks and regards
